ABOUT US

The Four Paws is an animal protection non-profit organization, founded in July 2004, in Curitiba, capital of Paraná in south Brazil, which also acts in the metropolitan region of the city. Our goals are mainly castrate pets belonging to people with family income under R$1000,00, and educate all citizens on the need of neutering and/or spaying in addition to responsible ownership.

We want to increase our donors’ panel hoping to decrease the quantity of neglected animals wandering on the streets of our capital and surroundings. The monthly contributions of our supporters and the profits we get by selling products such as t-shirts; sweat clothes; stuffed dog toys; mugs; stickers; lipsticks; pens, and others, are used to buy surgical material to keep on neutering/spaying the pets of the poorest, to pay for the indispensable operational costs of the organization, graphic arts, and the funds spent on spreading the responsible ownership campaign.

The neutering numbers’ are proportional to the number of our associates to whom Four Paws sends every month an overdue bill notice, a detailed update of the earnings’ destination, and the number of castrations we were able get done monthly. Since 2004 up to now, we have managed to neuter 5.800 pets of those in need.

The pets’ selection and registration are made by volunteers and vet students; the chief veterinary of our organization is Carlos Roberto de Assis, DVM, a renowned professional with relevant practice experience in Brazil and in Germany as well, and the financial management is under the responsibility of Georgia A. Ricciardella and Michel Sarraff, both with master’s degrees in business administration and well-known acting professionals in this field.

WE DO NOT HAVE SHELTERING ACCOMMODATIONS SO WE CANNOT TAKE ANIMALS INTO CUSTODY.
